He is survived by: his cousins, Alvin, Dana and Willie; his parents-in-law, Rosie, Howard, Andrew Sr., Elvis and Tommy; his daughter-in-law Gwendolyn Childress; his foster son Jessie Maxwell Sr.; his grandson Jeserick Pilgram Sr.; his wife Elvia Jean Childress; his children, Glenn Childress (Carol) of Cairo, Keith Childress (Tamika) of Mounds, DeAndre Childress of Mounds, Illinois. and Queadra Pollard (Johnny) of Mounds, Illinois.; his foster sons, Tony Cummings (Marcy) of Cairo and Lamont Foster (Tracy) of Chicago, Illinois.; his adoptive daughter Megan Spicer of Indianapolis, Indiana.; his siblings, Melvin Childress of Warren Robbins, Georgia., Mildred Gadson of South Bend and Frances Cattledge of Reynoldsburg, Ohio.; his siblings-in-law, Icie Childress of Pulaski, Illinois, Shirley Knighten of Pulaski, Illinois, Mary Knighten of Pulaski, Illinois, Catherine George of Clarksville, Tennessee, Betty Knighten of Jacksonville, Florida, Cynthia Knighten of St. Louis Missouri, Carl Knighten of Pulaski and Robert Knighten of Jacksonville, Florida; his grandchildren, Jazane Magraff and Keyshawn Watkins Dream; his close friends, Henry Herron, Clarence Faust and Teddy Thomas; and his cousin Arthur Morgan. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.
