She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Carl and Wilhemena "Minnie" Bastert Hagerbaumer; her husband Herbert Berndt; and her son-in-law Rick Alger. She is survived by: her daughters, Christine Alger of Quincy and Denise Orr (David) of Goose Creek; her sister Aleen Mittelberg (Virgil) of Quincy; her grandchildren, Matt Alger (Hillary) of Quincy, Melissa Casady (Matthew) of Quincy, Emily Hunsley (Cory) of Edinburg, Illinois and Ellery Orr of Davenport, Iowa; and her great grandchildren, Amadeus, Gracelyn Alger, Grant Casady, Ruby, Demry and Parke Hunsley. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
