He was predeceased by: his parents, George A. Collins and Eunice B. Collins (Wilson); and his siblings, William Collins, Bertha Roberts, George Collins, Jr., Robert Collins, Gloria Elliott, Grover Collins and Donna Shock.
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Richards; his children, Gary Dee Collins, Jr. (Cindy Williamson), Pam Schoncheck and Todd Collins (Lori); his grandchildren, Gary Dee Collins III (Melissa), Tiffany Snider (Jeremy), Megan Collins, Maycee Collins, Earl Schoncheck, Jr. (Sarah Ackman), Sarah Daugherty (Dallas), Victoria Hicks (Jordan), Lydia Schweinsberg (Lucas) and Hannah Collins; his great grandchildren, Aiden Collins, Calvin Collins, Alayna Snider, Wyatt Snider, Deegan Childress, Daylon Childress, Earl Schoncheck III, Emmett Schoncheck, Elliott Schoncheck, Leighton Daugherty and Walker Daugherty; his brother Ronnie; and his sister-in-law Sandy Collins. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
