It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Dorothy Hawkins of Rock Island, Illinois, born in Carthage, Tennessee, who passed away on September 27, 2024, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Grover "Cleveland" Wright and Sadie Belle Winfree Wright; her husband Charles L. Hawkins; her siblings, June Smith, Agnes Pettros, Ruth Gatlin, Ben and Hugh Wright; and her daughter-in-law Susan Hawkins.
She is survived by: her children, Bryan Hawkins (Teresa), Russell "Kim" Hawkins of Milan, IL and Jill Bryan (Bruce) of Boilingbrook, IL. She is also survived by six grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in care of Edgewood Baptist Church, Rock Island.
