He was predeceased by: his parents, G. Jerry Elston and Dorelle L. Elston (Mazzetta); and his sister Kristi Elston. He is survived by: his wife Julie; his children, G. J. Elston III of San Diego, CA and Athena Elston of Moline, IL; his stepsons, Artemaeus Julien of Urbandale, IA and Sean Moore; his granddaughter Baylee Elston; and his siblings, Josh Elston (Melanie) of Deer Park, WA and Tricia Dee Sachs of Aspen, CO..

Memorials may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
