It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Gidel of Rock Island, Illinois, born in Keokuk, Iowa, who passed away on November 29, 2022, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Willis Pierson and Hilma M. Whitley (Pearson); her husband Robert I. Gidel; her children, Bobbi Gidel Luken (David), Darren Gidel (Renee) of Ethel, LA, Lorren Gidel (Denise) and Kennon Gidel (Michele) of East Bernstadt, KY; her grandchildren, Darren R. Gidel, Jeffrey Rivera (Alma), Lindsey Gidel and Shawnda Gidel; and her great grandchildren, Aria Gidel and Emma Raya-Rivera.
