He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Govednik and Johanna Govednik (Kosmerl); his siblings, William Govednik, James Govednik and Jean Govednik; and his son-in-law Richard Nelson (Dick).
He is survived by: his wife Barbara Govednik (Putrich); his grandsons, Zachariah Willett and Nathan Willett; and his siblings-in-law, Dorothy Mahan (John), Diane Govednik (late William), Joan Zbacnik (late Louis) and Jim Putrich (Mary Lou Rutherford).
In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to Joliet Area Hospice and St. Mary's Nativity Church.
