He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas and Jean; his brothers, Jack and Simon; his sister-in-law Jean; and also Alistair Rannie (Jeannie).
He is survived by: his wife Irene; his children, Catherine Boyd (Kevin) and Thomas Hutchison (Megan); his grandchildren, Jack, Hugh and Maggie; his nephew Brian Hutchison (Janice); and his nieces, Sheena Mason (Eddie) and Sandra Paterson (Bill).
