He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Michelle Seiler (Bill) and Patrick Markham (Sherry); his siblings, Tom Markham (Sophie) and Eileen Lewandowski (Bob); and his grandchildren, Ellie, Liam, Katie and Fond. He was also cherished by many nieces and nephews.

Jerry was a dedicated member of the Lions, an avid bicycle rider, a devoted volunteer for the Alzheimer walk and a diehard Cub fan.
