It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James R. Bernard of Rossville, Illinois, who passed away on July 15, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by : his mother Margaret Bernard Shields; his siblings, Sheila Cooper, Janet Abbott (John) and Steve Shields; his sister-in-law Patricia Shields; and his great grandchild Andi Mae Willard.
He is survived by : his wife Carolyn Allen; his children, Monique Lusk (Randy) of Rossville, IL, Rebecca Hickman (Ed) of Jamesburg, IL and Mark Bernard of Rossville, IL; his siblings, Paula Abbott of Danville, IL, Donald Shields of Rossville, IL, Michael Shields of Stuart, FL and Randy Shields (Joan) of Hoopeston, IL; his siblings-in-law, Janice Shields of Hoopeston, IL, James Cooper, Wayne Allen (Rita) and Ted Kirts; his grandchildren, Trisha Willard (Allen), Amanda Hill (Montrell), Justin Bernard, Natasha Sebens (Tyson), Kari Bernard, Breanne Kelsey (Phil), Jenna Atwood (Ryan), James Hickman, Luke Hickman (Cheyenne) and Tamar Walder (Ryan); and his cousin Connie Downing (Tom). He is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
