He was predeceased by: his parents, John Tierney and Margaret Tierney (Walsh). He is survived by: his wife Peggy Tierney of St. Charles; his children, Kathy Tierney, Michael Tierney (Agnes) of Marengo and Kevin Tierney (Lisa) of Plano; his grandchildren, Mitch, Erik, Caitlin, Jessica, Shannon and Gabi; and his siblings, Patricia Barch of Hoffman Estates and Tom Tierney (Carol). He is also survived by many nieces and nieces.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a local charity of donor's choice.
