He was predeceased by : his parents, Wayne Rhodes and Emma Rhodes (Blankenship); his wife Genine Cox; his daughter Jody Rhodes; his siblings, Truman, Elvy, Bud, Carl, Larry, Dennis, Steve, Delight Calloway and Joyce Morris Hicks; and his great grandchild Mallorie Thies.

He is survived by : his children, Teresa Thies (Chris) of Effingham, Darel Eugene Rhodes (Melissa) of St and Elmo; his grandchildren, Mindy Asplin (Chris), Jordana Pearcy, Tyson Pearcy (Angela), Jacob Torbeck (Jackie), Dane Torbeck (Renee), Nikolas Torbeck, Chris Thies (Rhonda), John Thies (Michelle), David Thies (Rachae), Jessica Sisal (Brandon), Cole Rhodes (Courtney), Levi Rhodes, Bayle Rhodes (Jake Cather), Wayne Rhodes (Rachel), Dawson Rhodes (Brittany), Clay Rhodes (Brandi), Alyssa Rhodes, Jamey Rhodes, Lane Jurgeons, Kayla McMain, Nikki Taylor and Abby Crowell; his sister Shirley High of Salem; and his brother-in-law Fred Naab of Vandalia. He is also survived by 33 great grandchildren, and 1great- great grandchild.
