He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Scoles and Nelly Scoles (Tipsword); his daughter Florance Brna; his great grandchildren, Ashley Adams and Samantha Purcell; his siblings, Jess, Abe, Pauline, Len, Lucy, Lola, Merle, Harry and Jean; and his parents-in-law, Clara Harris and Arthur Harris.
He is survived by: his former wife Zelma Bernice Harris; his wife Bernice Scoles of St. Elmo, Illinois; his children, Benjamin Scoles, Billy Stewart, Shawn Stewart, Angela Leonard (Mike), Tamara Stewart, Nema Renee Scoles and Pam Sowers (Tim); his siblings, John Scoles (JoAnn), Ray Scoles (Diana), Zola Limes, Barbara Goldsberry and Mary Eagan; his sister-in-law Lina; and his son-in-law Kevin Kerry. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great-grandchildren.
