He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Elaine Peters; his children, Kenneth Peters (Batya), Barbara Davis (Bob), Jennifer Peters and Proud; his grandchildren, Louis Lapat (Rebecca), Jay Lapat (Sophia), Mark Budenbender, Corey Peters and Jason Peters; his great grandchildren, Jack, Hailey, Nora, Delfina, Nia and Leo; his sibling's children, Howard Berland, Susan Penn, Shari Berland Presser, Michael Berland and Adored; and his close friend Marsha Mendell.
