He is survived by: his children, Jill Koontz (Robert), Kari Vlietstra and Chad Vlietstra (Christina); his grandchildren, Ryan Koontz (Mallory), Kaylynn, Jenna Koontz, Dylan Vlietstra-Willis, Hannah Thomas, Caitlyn and Addison Vlietstra; his brothers, Ronald Vlietstra (Debbie) and Andrew; and his pets, Carol and Jeffrey Vlietstra.
