George Doerr Ficke Jr. Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of George Doerr Ficke Jr. of Springfield, Illinois, born in Davenport, Iowa, who passed away on January 24, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, George Doerr Ficke, Sr. and Jacqueline Ficke (Rothermel); and his brother John D. Ficke. He is survived by: his wife Carole "C. J." of Springfield; his children, David Ficke (Ruth) of Springfield and Christine Ficke of Austin, TX; his granddaughters, Nora Ficke, Lillie Carter and Rosie Hollen; his brothers, Robert Ficke (Judy) of Cissna Park, IL and David D. Ficke of Henderson, CO; and his sisters-in-law, Jan D. Ficke of Northglen, CO and Kaye Stolarik (Dennis) of Lake Villa, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Illinois COVID-19 guidance will be followed, requiring face coverings.
