He was predeceased by: his parents, William Alphin and Susan Alphin (Cofer); his daughter Jennifer; and his sister Jeannie. He is survived by: his wife Sara Merkelbach; his children, Phillip "PJ" and Dani; and his grandchildren, Hunter, Isabella, Austin and Alexis Sims. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
