It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Mae Gurski of Springfield, Illinois, born in Taylorville, Illinois, who passed away on February 10, 2022, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert Humphrey and Ida Mae Cook Humphrey; her son David Truax; and her siblings, Sara Cook and Tom Humphrey.
She is survived by: her husband John David Gurski; her son Wayne Truax of Springfield; her daughter-in-law Lisa Truax of Sherman; her grandchildren, Kristy Kutzora, Ryan Truax, Shelby Truax and Erin Truax; her great grandchild Adeline; her great great grandchild Hayden Truax; her siblings, Alice Bell, Rosie Libben, Joyce Barnett, Mary Courtney, Jeannie Brodie, David, Darrel and Larry Humphrey; and her sister-in-law Carol Humphrey. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
