Husband of Steeleville; his children, Linda Appel (Robert) of Steeleville, Edie Ernsting (James) of Steeleville, Claude Husband (Elaine) of Steeleville and Emma Wolters (Paul) of Percy; his grandchildren, Sara Appel, Marc Appel (Jaydee), Lance Ernsting (Stephanie), Matt Ernsting (Stephanie), Lori Beth Helmers (Jason), Katie Schatte (Nathan), Jessie Henson (Adam), Melinda LaSalle (Isaac) and Rachel Wolters; and his great grandchildren, Caitlyn Appel, Jacob Ernsting, Andrew Ernsting, Alexander Ernsting, Hazel Helmers, Caroline Helmers, Seth Schatte and Kody Schatte.
