We are sad to announce that on December 9, 2025 we had to say goodbye to Ramona J Mathis of Steeleville, Illinois. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James M. Steele and Pearl Steele (Logan); her husband Clarence A. "Cotton" Mathis; her son Rick Mathis; and her siblings, Evelyn Mathis, Calie Lee, Maxine Stone, Jack Steele and Fred Steele.
She is survived by: her sons, Bruce Mathis (Maxine) of Ellis Grove, IL, Doug Mathis of Steeleville, IL and Jon Mathis (Dana) of Steeleville, IL; and her brother Rex Steele of Nashville, TN.. She is also survived by her 9 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 18th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, on Friday, December 19th 2025 from 7:30 AM to 9:00 AM and from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Peter's Lutheran Church (601 Church St, Campbell Hill, IL 62916).
Memorials may be given to American Legion Auxiliary Post 480 and can be mailed to Wilson's Funeral Home, P.O. Box 217, Steeleville, IL 62288.
