He was predeceased by: his half-brother Dr. Phil Boren. He is survived by: his wife Willene McCarty of Steeleville; his granddaughter Maggie of Red Bud; his sister-in-law Sharon Boren of Carmi; his nieces, Lisa McCarty (David B.) of Kingwood, TX and Lisa Gwin (David A.) of Carmel, IN; and his brothers-in-law, Willard Duensing (Pat) of Danville, IL and Darrell Duensing (Tammy) of Prairie.

Memorials may be made to the Steeleville Baptist Church Building Fund and WXAN Radio.
