He is survived by: his children, Matthew Akkeron (Barbara) and Kirsten Bernheim (Joel); his grandchildren, Parker, Alexander, Emmett Akkeron, Sophie, Megan Bernheim, Celia Balson (Ben) and Nathan Bernheim (Ashley); his sister Susan Ludwig (George); his cousin John Hayes (Pat); and his pet Gracie.
