He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Ruh and Herbert Ruh; and his siblings-in-law, Lloyd Ostebee and Annette Ruh. He is survived by: his wife Alvena Ruh; his siblings, Marjorie Ostebee (Ruh) and Fred Ruh; his children, Russ Ruh (Deb), John Ruh (Deb), Charley Ruh (Shannon), Steve Ruh and Jenny Schmitz (Tony); his great grandchildren, Ryan and Kari Ruh; and his grandchildren, Megan, Bret Fisher (Hadley), Mitch, Ashley Ruh (Benson), Beth, Dave Gottlieb, Zach Ruh, Mike Greutman, Melanie, Robert English, Taylor, Kaylee Ruh (Brooks), Berlyn Ruh, Annika Ruh, Sullivan Ruh, Evelyn Schmitz and Sydney Schmitz. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 28th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Healy Chapel (370 Division Dr, Sugar Grove, IL 60554). A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Gall Catholic Church (43W885 Hughes Rd, Elburn, IL 60119). A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 29th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the St. Gall Cemetery.
