He was predeceased by : his grandfathers, Frank E. Assalley and Kent L. Koehler; and his close friend Zachary Fish of Effingham, IL. He is survived by : his parents, William "Bill" Assalley and Carolyn Assalley (Koehler) of Taylorville; his wife Lauren E. Assalley (Sanders) of Taylorville; his children, Ila Belle Assalley, Vincent Francis Kent Assalley and John William Assalley; his parents-in-law, Debbie Sanders of Watson, IL and Derek Sanders of Newton, IL; his sisters, Lauren Layton (Wesley) of Ypsilanti, MI and Sydney Assalley (Dillon Williams) of Ypsilanti, MI; his siblings-in-law, Nikki Vahling (Richard) of Teutopolis, IL and Logan Sanders; his goddaughter Aubrey Vahling; his grandmothers, Jacquelyn Assalley of Peru, IL and Linda Koehler of Peru, IL; and his uncle Robert H. Assalley. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to an educational fund for Mike & Lauren's children, c/o Lauren Assalley. The family greatly appreciates donations made to these charities in Michael A. Assalley 's name.
