He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Borries and Florence Borries (Hardiek); his wife Betty L. Smith; and his brother Robert Borries. He is survived by: his children, Susan Reese (Sam) of Urbana, Rex Borries (Linda) of Dieterich, Michael V. Borries (Debbie) of Effingham, Ann Thomas of Teutopolis, Peg Hille (Dan) of Effingham, Donald Borries (Lisa) of Effingham and Dennis Borries (Sue) of Teutopolis; and his sisters, Rose Ann Goeckner (Ray) of Teutopolis and Ruth Ann Miller of Addison. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 1 step-grandchild; 22 great-grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Sister Ethelbert Hall, the former Monastery Museum under renovation in Teutopolis or Catholic HEART Workcamp.
