He was predeceased by: his parents, Malcolm Gustafson and Alma Gustafson (Magnuson) of Tiskilwa, Illinois.; his wives, Alice E. Vail and Barbara McKenzie; and his siblings, Darlene, Doris, Russ and Gene.
He is survived by: his children, Ann Elmore (Roger) of Fayetteville, Arkansas and David Gustafson (Sharon) of Mundelein, Illinois; his grandchildren, Megan Brown (Michael) of Fayetteville, David Elmore (Jessica) of Fayetteville, Peter Elmore (Tiffany) of Fayetteville, Laura Combs (Marty) of Boulder, Mark Gustafson of Colorado Springs, Paul Gustafson (Jessica) of Asheville and Hannah Gustafson of Boulder; his great grandchildren, Titus, Elliott, Ezra, Alice Brown, Elizabeth, Nathan Elmore, Ingrid, Elsie, Annika and Kirsten Combs; his brother Gerald of Carlyle, IL; and his sister-in-law Betty Gustafson. He is also survived by nieces, and nephews.
