He is survived by : his parent Mary Ann Hargis (Stevens); his spouse Gloria Morgan; his children, Paul L. Hargis (Elaine) of Humboldt, Penny S. Black (Hargis) and John D. Hargis (Sheryl) of Charleston; his grandchildren, Travis Hargis, Christina Zike (Chad), Amanda Black, Hank Hargis (Rebecca) and Amie Shaffer (Caleb); his great grandchildren, Addison Zike, Aden Zike, Alexis Black, Ashlynn Black, Audie Shaffer and Charlotte Hargis; and his sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hargis of Charleston and Jeanne Martin of Mattoon. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

It is requested that donations in his honor be made to Carle Hospice, East Harrison Street Church of God or Toledo Christian Church.
