She was loved and cherished by many people including : her parents, Russell Cain and Evelyn Cain of Virden; her former life partner Leon Baker; her sons, Michael Baker (Beverly) of Garner, NC and Alan Baker (Michelle) of Springfield; her grandsons, Jesse, Cody Baker of Garner, NC and Greyson Baker of Springfield; her former life partner Lee Scales; her husband David McKennedy; her sisters, Arlene Rhodes (Dale) of Marion and Nancy Heriford of Virden; her sister-in-law Joann Cain of Manchester, IA; her brother Evan Cain; and her brother-in-law Bobby Heriford. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Virden Church of the Brethren, Federation of Christians and Jews, or Benld Animal Shelter and will be received by Airsman & Calvert Funeral Homes, Virden who is honored to be caring for Brenda's family.
