He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert W. Slater Sr. and Melba Gene Slater. He is survived by: his wife Cindy Ward; his children, Matt Slater (Allison) and Jennica Slater (Craig Crawford); his granddaughter Sylvia; his sisters, Jackie Gustavson, Susan Birkel (Jeff) and Patti Heavrin; his parents-in-law, Jim and Evelyn Ward; and his sisters-in-law, Linda Klein, Shari Parker (Kevin) and Karen Schrock (Tom). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
