“When Harrison Bankhead played the Chicago Jazz festival, I think the year before Covid, On stage, while playing, he said loud enough for me to hear several rows back, "It doesn;t get better than this," with his smile or grin, all while continuing to play. I think he was sitting then, hip problem. I knew Harrison since Velvet Lounge in the 90s, he deserves a jazz funeral if anyone does. /s/Kevin Marshall [email protected]”
