He was predeceased by: his parents, John Metcalf and Maggie Metcalf; his brother Houston Metcalf; his grandson Marcus Mays; and his grandparents, Omer and Tennie Holloman.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Lee Metcalf; his children, Minnie (Freddy), Janice L. Osborne (LeRon), Zachary Metcalf, Natalie Wright, Lynda Trammell (Fred) and Lothaire Metcalf; and his siblings, Barbara Tucker, Polly Gray, Dorothy Duty, Odell Metcalf and Jessie Metcalf. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren; 47 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild.
