Shirley Porter Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Porter of Waukegan, Illinois, who passed away on January 19, 2021, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Stanley Schuster and Josephine Schuster (Gerzel); her sister Sheila Jakaitis (Jake); and her son-in-law Richard Govekar. She is survived by: her daughters, Sandra Dunkel (Byron) and Laura Govekar; her grandchildren, Stacey Dalen (Andrew), Robyn Dunkel and Lauren Govekar; and her great grandchildren, Anthony Dunkel and Rylee Dalen.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and in accordance with current State of Illinois resurgence mitigations, all guests will be required to wear a face mask at all times. There will be a maximum of 25 people allowed in the funeral home at a time and proper social distancing must be practiced.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Shirley's name.
