He was predeceased by: his parents, James Benton Bales and Lois Bales; and his brother Kirk Bales. He is survived by: his daughters, Erin and Kelly Bales; his son-in-law Narisu "Huhnars" Huhe; and also, Gavin, Owen and Zoey. He is also survived by his family members, friends, and coworkers.
