He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Swartzbaugh and Gertrude Swartzbaugh (Koertge); his wife Herta; and his grandson Samuel James Swartzbaugh. He is survived by: his children, Ted, Francine Ruiz, Brian (Helen), Martin (Marla), Daniel and Bettina Carrell (Paul); and his cousin Loretta Buckles. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
