She was loved and cherished by many people including: her spouse Ben Kaplan; her children, Elissa Swidler (Ira) and Vivian Shavin; her grandchildren, Heidi Shavin-Schieman (Brian), Bethany Gordon (Brian), Megan Lekan (Dan) and Michael Swidler (Julie); her great grandchildren, Hannah Gordon and Rowan Swidler; and her sibling Betty Kletcher (late Dave).
