Betty Van Duyne Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty Van Duyne of Wilmington, Illinois, born in Essex, Illinois, who passed away on August 8, 2025 at the age of 91. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Betty Van Duyne to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, James Sr. Lardi and Catherine Lardi (Motta); her husband Allie; and her siblings, Joe Lardi (Millie), Tisha Payne (Clarence), Theresa Lardi, Rosie Van Duyne (Leroy), Katherine Dixon (John), James Lardi (Bernice) and Charles Lardi.
She is survived by: her daughters, Debbie Choo (late Gary) of Kapaau, Sheila Meyers (Joe) of Elwood, Sally Vedder of Wilmington and Betty Frankovich (Dave) of Canada; her grandchildren, Joey Meyers (Melissa) of Elwood, Zachary Vedder (Sabrina) of Wilmington, Katy Grygiel (Nick) of Wilmington and Allie Pruitt (Scott) of Florida; her great grandchildren, Braylen Zajda, Jack Grygiel, Elly Grygiel, Evelyn Pruitt, Hudson Pruitt and Theodore Meyers; and her sister-in-law Joyce Van Duyne. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, August 11th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Baskerville Funeral Home (700 E Kahler Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481). A Mass was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Rose Catholic Church (604 S Kankakee St, Wilmington, IL 60481). A burial was held on Tuesday, August 12th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (700 E Kahler Rd, Wilmington, IL 60481).
Preferred memorials in lieu of flowers may be made as gifts in Betty's memory to the Children's Garden Project of Elwood, 401 E Mississippi Avenue, Elwood, IL 60421.
