Douglas Strobel Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas Strobel of Wilmington, Illinois, born in Joliet, Illinois, who passed away on December 7, 2020, at the age of 79, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Edward "Barney" and Maxine McGill-Strobel; his wife Fran; his aunt Hazel Baughn; and his siblings-in-law, Donald Klegman (Carol), Thomas Klegman, William "Jersey" Klegman, Cathy Broderick and Margaret "Peggy" Ragain.
He is survived by : his former life partner Frances Klegman; his children, Reverend Scott Strobel (Reneé) of Lockport, NY, Sandra Van Epps (Ron) of Northfield, IL and Amy Burke (Patrick) of Macomb, IL; his grandchildren, Douglas Strobel (Holly), Michael Strobel (Ashalea), Timothy Strobel (Hope), Wesley Strobel (Anja), Jacob Strobel, Annika Strobel, Kaitlyn Strobel, Krista Van Epps (Alex Bloom), Zachary Van Epps, Joseph Burke and Edward Burke; his great grandchildren, Clayton, Kira and Nathanael; his sister Sheri Friddle of Wilmington; and his siblings-in-law, Patricia Fox (Ron), Kimberly Brown (Dave), Debbie Klegman, Ilene Klegman and James Klegman. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Doug's memory to Kuzma Care Cottage, Our Caring Closet, or to the Wilmington Fire Department.
