She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Pagliaro and Margaret Pagliaro (Ranftle); the father of her children James J. Bowman, Sr.; her former husband Nicholas Portegys; her husband John Cavallero; and her children, Patricia Siegel, Jeanne Marie Parker and Michael Bowman.
She is survived by: her children, James Joseph Bowman (Kaye) of North Dakota and Kathleen Marconi (Michael) of St. John, Indiana; and her stepchildren, Agnes Limacher of Joliet, Tom Portegys (Shirley) of DeKalb, Martha Jones of Joliet, Patrick Portegys (Debbie) of Ocala and Julie Crews of St. Louis, Missouri. She is also survived by grandchildren and great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preferred memorials may be made as gifts in Joanne's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
