He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Taylor and Frances Bloom Taylor; and his siblings, Jim and Judy Beck. He is survived by: his wife Sherrie; his children, LeAnn Malecha (Steve) of Libertyville, IL, Gina Simpson (Gary) of Alexis, IL and Michael Taylor (Jodie) of Grayslake, IL; his grandchildren, Camille, Beth, Emily, Grace, Gretchen, Tyler, Kelsie and Annalee; his great grandchild Noelle; and his brothers, Rodger Taylor (Gloria) of Alpha, IL and Gary Taylor (Rhonda) of Woodhull, IL. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be left to the United Church of Woodhull or the AlWood Academic Foundation.
