With profound sadness, we say goodbye to James R. Reed of Woodstock, Illinois, born in Summerfield, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. James left this world on July 17, 2025 at the age of 89, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Ralph Reed and Hilda Reed; his wife June Brotherton Reed; his brother Joseph; his siblings-in-law, Patricia Reed and David Brotherton; and his sibling's children, Craig Reed and Lisa Reed.
He is survived by: his children, Scott Reed (Leza), Jeff Reed (Bridgette) and Jill (Larry Farino); his grandchildren, Julie Reed, Sierra (Jared Georgakopoulos), Nash Reed, Anthony, Nicholas and Tyler Farino; and his sisters-in-law, Karen (Roger Plaster) and Marianne Brotherton.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Davenport Family Funeral Homes and Crematory (419 E Terra Cotta Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A funeral service will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the First Church of Crystal Lake (236 W Crystal Lake Ave, Crystal Lake, IL 60014). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, July 27th 2025 at 5:00 PM at the Woodstock Country Club (10310 Country Club Rd, Bull Valley, IL 60098).
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Reed Family would be greatly appreciated in the name of Becky Reed, who recently lost her husband Craig Reed.
