He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Michael and Irene Ihnat (Benko); and his former wife Patricia Ihnat (Kietzman). He is survived by: his wife Tamra Ihnat (Ewald); his daughter Lisa C. Banister of Anderson; his grandchildren, Ty Banister (Shelby), Haylei Banister, Austin Randolph Banister, Taylor and Tanner Smith Banister; his great grandchild Alice Patricia Banister; his stepsons, Robert Knuckles (Kathryn) and Christopher Knuckles (Amie); his stepgrandchildren, Ryan Knuckles (Meghan), Rachel Knuckles, Megan Knuckles, Zander Knuckles, Zack Knuckles and Al's; and also, Milo Ihnat and Jeri Gonzalez.
