She was predeceased by: her husband Ralph E. Sailes; her parents, Andrew Jackson and Lulu Wheeler (Graham); her son Denny Varner; and her siblings, Virginia Hiatt, Rosetta McDuffy, Pauline Scruggs, Ethel Mae Moore and Willie Wheeler.
She is survived by: her daughter Lulu Mae Bass; and her grandchildren, Rosa L. Hodgkins, Regina M. Streaty, Merleana Harrison, Anthony Lawrence, Daniel Lawrence, Sylvia Moore, Talana Fynbo and Tina Bass. She is also survived by great grandchildren; and a host of nieces & nephews.
