He was predeceased by: his wife Lois June Matkins; his parents, Olace Matkins and Lucile Matkins; his daughter Joan Matkins; and his sister Retha Pitts.

He is survived by: his daughters, Janna Parker, Susan Bow (Charles), Diane Laidig (Jack) and Mary Matkins; and his grandchildren, Brandon, Sarah, Elizabeth, Justin, Jessica and Ben. He is also survived by 8 great- grandchildren.
