He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Surber and Jennie James; his grandparents, Lucian and Millie Lagle; and his siblings, Patricia Jones (Glenn Jones) and Scotty Surber.
He is survived by: his wife Janet Surber; his children, Yvette Karaffa (Mike) and Charles L. Surber (Amanda); his grandchildren, Millie and Lucian Karaffa; and his brothers, Doug Barnes of Anderson and Dennis Barnes of Texarkana. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, as well as, several great-nieces and great-nephews.
