He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Darrell Boone and Dorothy Klinefelter; his close friend Myra Hankins; his children, Kathleena "Kitti" Lum (Scott) of Elwood, Mechell Ballay (John) of Byrdstown, Tenn and James Hankins of Lapel; his brother Daniel Boone (Cathy) of Lapel; his nephew Todd Boone (Tiffany) of Lapel; his sister Sharon Hazelett (Tom) of Fort Wayne; and his friends, Mike Horning, Danny Insko, Susie Schneider, Larry and Teresa VanBriggle. He was also cherished by several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to the Riley Children's Hospital or a local Humane Society.
