He was predeceased by : his parents, Franklin Josiah and Vada Jane Baker (Smith); his granddaughter Jaycie Kim Lane; and his siblings, Dale Baker and Naomi Elliott.

He is survived by : his wife Shirley S. Baker (Thompson); his children, Jeretta, Reynolds, Joe, Janet Lane and Joyce Reed; and his sisters, Sandra O'Hair and Sharon Austin. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made, in lieu of flowers, to the Bainbridge Alumni Association.
