It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Barbara Fay Hughes of Batesville, Indiana, who passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Hobart McDowell and Temple McDowell; her son Richard Anthony "Tony" Hughes; her grandchildren, Catherine Hughes and Austin Sims; her siblings, Eileen Courtney, Betty Braunwart and Bobby McDowell; and her nephew Kenny Courtney.

She is survived by : her husband Thomas Hughes; her children, Thomas Michael Hughes and Terri Lynn Sims; her grandchildren, Cody Sims, Cole Sims, Kira Sims, Carter Sims, Cory Sims, Jon Paul Hughes and Josh Hughes; her great grandchildren, Chance, Waylon, Rowan and Grayson Hughes; and her nieces, Linda Coy and Kathy Meserve.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 27th 2021 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Meyers Funeral Home (1150 State Rd 46, Batesville, IN 47006). A prayer was held on Saturday, February 27th 2021 at 10:00 AM at the same location. In accordance with the Indiana COVID-19 precautions, all attending are required to wear a mask and follow proper social distancing protocol.
