She is survived by: her children, William "Bill" Irvin Hazelwood (Erin) and Bernice Lynn Essick (Thomas) of Batesville, IN; her grandsons, Levi and Wyatt Essick; her sisters-in-law, Janet Holt and JoAnne Hazelwood; her sibling's children, Char Lussier (Jacques), Marge Richardson (Rod), Chris Hazelwood (Dennis Murphy), Lisa Brown (Kenny), Charles Hazelwood (Katie) and Keith Hazelwood (Ann); and her friends, Jama and Jorja Cleghorn. She is also survived by many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
In honor of Bertha's lifelong commitment to student athletics, memorial contributions may be made to the Batesville Athletic Boosters for the purchase of new concession equipment—an area of special meaning to Bertha and those who served alongside her.
