He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles F. Melvin and Golda Marrie Melvin (Miller); his former wife Carol Sue; his wife Ruth E. Davidson; his daughter Cheryl Sue; and his siblings, Sharon Barger and Philip D. Melvin.
He is survived by: his children, Jerry D. Melvin (Jean) of Bedford, Charles H. Melvin (Roslyn) of Bedford and Randall D. Melvin (Pamela) of Bedford; and his stepson Kevin Davidson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM at the Day & Carter Mortuary (1133 Lincoln Ave, Bedford, IN 47421). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 11th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
