He was predeceased by: his brother Donald M. Hingle. He is survived by: his wife Carole Hingle; his children, John W. Hingle IV (Susan), Christine Hingle and Susan Hingle; his grandchildren, John, Abigail, Greyson, Madeline and Sophia; and his sister Geraldine Turner. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in John's honor can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
